Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 states that districts and schools are required to make annual Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).  AYP is how the federal law measures the achievement of schools, districts, and states.  The ultimate goal of AYP is to have all students proficient in reading and math by the year 2014.
